Deadhead Chic!

Deadhead Chic! Eye for Detail Grateful Dead Forever Chic by Meg

The cultural impact of music can influence every facet of life especially concerning fashion and personal style.  Nothing could be more prevalent than with the followers of The Grateful Dead.  Recently, the band’s original three existing members joined forces with John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, and John Clemente.  The revival was driven by a definite purpose and thought-out plan to inspire the original counterculture based on peace, love, and kindness.

I anticipated the newfound popularity would unify an ageless audience that now makes up the modernized Deadhead community.  I also envisioned that the movement would inspire up-to-date options of the societies traveling storefront as they have grown up and are living richer lives.

As a stylist with Saks and a devoted supporter myself, I have taken notice of the artistic resemblance found from different designers throughout the industry.  Labels such as Del Toro, The Alchemist, and Proenza Schouler have been inspired by the band’s originality and spirit to create assortments that will attract the loyal fan base to present-day fashion.

I truly respect the brilliance of these business-minded beatniks once called The Warlocks. This is a welcomed resurgence that promotes longevity, wellness, and prosperity. The iconic Grateful Dead, admired today as Deadhead chic!
