This summer has already broken records in many life categories and first on the list is the well-deserved promotion of Misty Copeland – the first African-American principal dancer for the ABT. Misty grew up with financial limitations and decided to pursue a career where her race and age were challenging obstacles to overcome. Through her hard work, persistence, and dedication to the art, she made her way into the forefront of her field making history along the way.
The ballet captured my heart at a young age, and I look forward to experiencing Misty’s exquisite style that will grace the ABT stage for years to come. Bravo Misty – may you continue to make dreams come true.
Forever Chic!
