I have been trying to envision the best possible location to endure a heatwave and the ultimate beach house came to mind. I pictured a rustic shingle home similar to the house in the movie Somethings Gotta Give, positioned steps from the beach where the ocean provides a summer breeze that prevails over the oppressive temperatures and humidity. As I was reading Cottages & Gardens, I came across a stunning beachfront residence in Amagansett that transformed my daydream into a reality.
The breathtaking property took over five years to construct and was then brought to life by the magical work of the New York-based designer Brad Ford. The seaside mansion shares a sophisticated simplicity, remaining true to the free spirit lifestyle of the area.
Brad and his clients selected a neutral color palette as a backdrop only to highlight the pop of brilliant color and exclusive furnishings throughout the space for a playful summer glow.
The full story is a testament to the beauty of a summer breeze and the kindness of mother nature and her natural decor.
Forever Chic!
