To start the new decade Town and Country dedicated its first issue to the jewelry that has made a significant impact in fashion throughout the years. The magazine explored the importance of these treasured trinkets based on craftsmanship, monetary worth, and sentimental value. It was the article by Stellene Volandes titled “Aerin Lauder on the Jewels that Made History” that captured my attention. The style synopsis took me on a memorable journey that included my own jewelry box.
The museum-worthy photos of Aerin by Ruven Afanador showcased the prestige of the pearl, the sparkle of the diamond, and rebellious radiance from the natural beauty of turquoise. The story also shared the exclusive glitter worn by the notable icons that continue to influence the runway today.
Aerin outlined the different contexts these decorative ornaments can portray. The family heirloom, a meaningful keepsake or the timeless tradition of gift-giving. All meaningful connotations that allow the best moments in life to linger-on.
In honor of all this wonder, I want to share selections from The Vault at Saks Fifth Avenue. The floor hosts the jewelry and timepiece designers that have endured the test of time alongside the modern mavens of the day. The new destination offers a lasting custom for luxury shopping that will hopefully continue to prevail.
Most of you know I am the Brand Ambassador for The Advance Designers at Saks Fifth Avenue. What I enjoy most is being a part of a group of exceptional labels that all offer their own individual style and unique vision.
Recently, I was honored to attend the Rick Owens book signing event. It was a special evening highlighting his two new publications. The first is a coffee table collaboration is with Danielle Levitt a film maker and portrait photographer. The second is Rick’s individual work about the life and career of Larry Legaspi. Legaspi is a fashion icon best known for his signature artistry for the music labels, Kiss and Labelle.
Saks welcomed Rick’s fall collection titled Larry to follow suit with the inspiration of his new book. The assortment includes his steadfast timeless silhouettes while introducing shades of red and bolts of silver. The new fashions are the inspiration of Legaspi’s mindset and contributions of the seventies. The line proudly decorates The Advance as yet another successful interpretation of Rick’s dark elegance. Only this season he shares the creativity and style of the times of both the past and the present.
The WSJ Magazine always finds a great way to psyche us up for fall fashion. This year is no exception. Through the artistry of Cara Taylor and photographer Christian MacDonald, they brought about a fashion fairytale on Faro Island off the mainland of Sweden. The waterfront destination is surrounded by the Baltic Sea and was once the live/work residence of director Ingmar Bergman. The lands purity and elegance is all that was needed to capture a sophisticated and magical style of life.
As we move toward autumn the world seems to be drawn to an uncomplicated glamour. Loud logos are losing their luster as the runway is focused on creating a wearable stylish wardrobe. The editorial displays an assortment of up-to-date yet timeless designer selections. A group of contemporary closet essentials that have the staying power to be reinvented year after year.
As we prepare to step into the new season the article reminds us about the value of quality over quantity. Directing attention to the importance of genuine beauty found in nature and performing acts of kindness and respect. A lesson in fashion that establishes classy is the new cool.
In 2014 I started on a journey to change my life or a least my career. I joined a Harvard Business School start-up working as an online stylist and fell in love. After a short stay, I founded Forever Chic by Meg and joined Saks Fifth Avenue as a Style Advisor/Personal Shopper in 2017.
On April 7th I was promoted to the Brand Ambassador for The Advance Department at Saks. The store ultimate destination is the home of the premier designers and their cutting-edge masters. A truly pinch-me moment as I continue this adventure of making dreams come true – both for me and for my clients.
I thought it fitting to formally introduce the anchor brands as I am proud and honored to represent them all. I will start in alphabetical order with Acne Studios. The Stockholm based design house that offers a steadfast group of modern essentials. The assortments are inspired by the director’s interest in visual arts and its impact on contemporary culture.
The floor would not be complete without the American influence of Alexander Wang. The urban craftsman is known for his downtown cool esthetic that covers all style categories including ready to wear, handbags, and shoes. A home-town favorite for the lady that likes an advanced approach to traditional classics.
Isabel Marant is our popular Parisian ally. Her free spirit touches the hearts of timeless girls with diverse mindsets. Her devoted audience can count on the seasonal wardrobe updates that will enhance everyday style. Saks offers all her groups to encourage a chic head to toe Isabel statement.
Next, up is the recognizable Mr. Rick Owens. The mysterious fashion wizard and his avant-garde creations have established a cult following. The dedicated congregation anticipates his modest silhouette and color upgrades each season to add to their exclusive collections.
Last but not least would be the doll dressmaker Simone Rocha. The Irish designer brings to life an animated prettiness for the gal who loves a playful and glamorous imagination. The dresses, skirts and one-of-a-kind t-shirt renditions are fun and flirtatious. Her artistry is both formal or combat boot casual for a woman who wants to write a unique fairytale.
The images below represent the core five labels and their up-in-coming ready to wear runway collections. In addition, The Style Server is filled with the buy now wear now selections you can currently find at Saks. This is a special moment for my personal campaign and career objectives that promote an everlasting personal style that is original, elegant, and timeless.

February’s Market Report in the WSJ Magazine takes us on an enchanting adventure with a modern lady and her suitor. The couple is styled in ruling denim, leathers, and trending utility suits. The up-to-date silhouettes welcome the purity and wisdom this timeless gem represents to every new generation. Today, the Style Server mimics the editorials ensembles accompanied by David Yurman pearls from Saks Fifth Avenue.
New York Fashion week has come and gone leaving behind the memorable merchandise for the seasons ahead. There were outstanding performances from Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta, and Adam Lippes. Including the inspiring debut from Cate Holstein and her label Khaite.
I thought it fitting to highlight the hometown brand Deveaux. A newcomer to the scene with the innovative leadership of Tommy Ton. Tommy is a well-known street photographer recognized for capturing the local fashion stars. Tommy’s appointment brings his stylish realistic eye and a new assortment of women’s ready to wear to the collaboration.
The elegant presentation from ordinary people accompanied by a pianist offered a cultured appeal. The modern classic logo created by Andrea Tsao and Matthew Breen produces chic and comfortable essentials for the ages. A concept Tommy is an expert in promoting. An artist now designer showcasing timeless beauty for all who walk the walk of life.
February and its frigid temperatures are upon us encouraging the need for a mid-winter holiday. As some head for the sand and surf others prefer an active arctic adventure to rest up and recharge.
If you decide to wrap yourself in a blanket of white, frosty glamour will be required for apres ski fun. This snow scene soiree is a longstanding ritual hosted to tell-all about the day’s accomplishments.
To assist you in packing for mountain magic The Style Server is decorated with chic slope essentials. The shop includes the current customary garb suitable for a spirited drink fest or a cozy cocktail by the fire.
We all have that style crush we lust after for hair, makeup, and fashion ideas. In my case, Anne Hathaway is my go-to girl. Between her gorgeous brunette features and deep brown almond eyes, I have become a devoted stalker. This month she was selected to be Town & Country’s cover girl complete with the up-to-date images for the season ahead.
The exquisite photos by Francesco Carrozzini promoted Anne’s effortless elegance dressed in stunning selections from Max Mara, Dries Van Norton, Haider Ackerman, and Carolina Herrera. The contemporary classics from Vhernier and Pomellato were the finishing touch to turn the young princess into a cultivated lady.
Anne who is now married and a proud Mom has evolved into a mature woman with grace and glamour. She continues to advance as a style icon using good judgment to become a timeless treasure. To celebrate this tasteful sophistication The Style Server offers classic LBDs and modern trinkets from Vhernier @Saks.
January is well on its way and I thought it fitting to dream of the tropical adventures that may be in store. Inspired for this journey by black and white photos of the singer, author, and style icon Francoise Hardy. Francis is a spirited soul who became famous in the 60s and 70s. She continues to be a modern-day visionary overcoming a grave illness and persevering through extreme adversity. In addition to her summer-chic style, her story is an inspiring force to mentor us into the new year.
Seeking a warm weather refuge seems to be on everyone’s short list. Saks is also riding this wave celebrating the island life with the Atlantis Resort. This week the store has transformed into a Bahamian paradise. The Fifth Avenue flagship is resort-ready to promote a sunkissed winter getaway. To follow suit The Style Server is equipped with my favorites of the season to create a magical seaside sabbatical.
