When deciding what to feature for interiors this week I was inspired by WSJ’s article with Bunny Williams discussing dogs and elegance two of my favorite subjects. In the search of a photo of Bunny with her cherished rescues, I stumbled on a second interview by Kristy Woodson Harvey of Design Chic on Southern Living Magazine of equal measure and acknowledging Ms. Williams being named the Southern Living Show House designer for 2015.
I adore Bunny’s decorating style, wisdom, and especially her love of dogs. As a rescue Mom myself I shared my apartment with my beloved Hudson for 12 years providing him with elegant canine decor including beds, bowls, coats, and leashes. Along with the fun furnishings, a dog provides a home with warmth, joy, and unconditional love an honored expression of personal style. In addition, Hudson and I had the privilege of parading past Treillage Bunny’s well-known garden boutique on the upper east side daily. The storefront recently closed after 25 years and along with my Hudson will be missed as they added immense character to the neighborhood.
Enjoy the articles that include a wealth of information, and decorating tips to create a home of timeless elegance with or without a furry companion. However, a house is never truly a home without the love of a dog.
